EC: The Apothecary 0.4 - Log #2


Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered...

It hasn't been that bad, no, but it's been a slog. As of the end of today, Saturday, I have one scene left to assemble. It'll be a tricky one, and I should learn to to do my least favorite characters first instead of last so I don't end up procrastinating.

ADHD does that to you.

After this last one is finished, I'm going to be moving into testing the assembly and making notes on little fixes, stomping out bugs, and moving onto GUI and menu updates. The biggest, by far, will be the journal update. With the addition of so much new content, the script will probably double in size and it was hell to get it working the first time.

I'm toying with the idea to scrap the book-like menu screen for something full-screen and a little easier to parse -- move away from text buttons and go for image buttons instead. I think it might be better for the Android users and be cleaner if a bit less "in-character". Basically make it look more like the trading screen (see the second image above) in a general sense.

We'll have to see what I feel like in the morning.

Oh, I'll (soon-ish) be posting a little brainstorm I've been having regarding 0.4.1. To allay any and all fears, the 0.4.1 won't be a small update, though it won't be a huge update like 0.4 is. Not putting out something for a couple months has been aggravating me, and I don't have the brain-power to make another huge one, either. A lot more of what I'm thinking will be posted later in the month.
